Dubai Police has formed a special support team, Iron Fist, to assist in stopping reckless driving.
The team will also enforce traffic security measures across the emirate, aid in emergencies and pursue reckless drivers, Col Saif Al Mazroui, head of Dubai Traffic Police, said.
Jaywalkers and accident blackspots will also be targeted.
Additionally, the Dubai police official said that the Iron Fist team will assist in putting a stop to motorists who stop on the shoulders of motorways as well as buses that carry more than their capacity.
