DUBAI // A woman died after falling from a third-floor apartment which was being used as a brothel, the Dubai Criminal Court was told.

Bangladeshis MA, 40, MR, 44, and MSA, 38, were charged with the confinement of an unidentified woman at a flat in Naif.

They were also charged with luring the woman by deceit and with running a brothel. MR and MSA were additionally charged with having consensual sex with another woman who was working as a prostitute and remains at large.

MA, MR, and MSA did not enter a plea when they appeared in court.

Prosecutors said that on July 13 this year, MSA saw the victim crying next to a supermarket. She told him she was looking for a place to stay so he took her to his apartment, which he runs as a brothel.

“He introduced her to three women in the flat who worked as prostitutes, then left,” testified police captain HH, 40.

“MSA said the building’s security guard called him shortly after and told him that the woman had jumped from the window.”

HH added that MSA, who was arrested after fleeing to Oman, confessed to taking the woman back to the flat. After she was killed he told the three prostitutes to leave the flat and fled the country.

A forensics report said the victim, who was in her late 40s and remains unidentified, suffered multiple fractures and internal bleeding in the fall.

The next hearing will be on December 8.
