GCC chief condemns Turkey's threats against the UAE

The secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf, condemned on Tuesday the threats some Turkish officials have made against the UAE.

Stressing the council’s keenness on maintaining regional security and stability, Dr Al Hajraf reiterated the GCC's commitment to pan-Arab security and the rejection of any foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab states.

He made the statement as he received Turkish ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Erdogan Kok. The meeting, which was held at the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh, was attended by Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations Dr Abdulaziz Hamad Al Ouwaishaq.

Dr Al Hajraf underscored the GCC's keenness on ensuring the security and stability of the region and developing relations with neighbouring countries in order to achieve mutual interests on the basis of respecting sovereignty, without meddling in internal affairs.
