JERUSALEM // Israel’s prime minister has suspended contacts with European Union representatives regarding the political process with the Palestinians to protest the bloc’s decision to label Israeli exports from the West Bank.
Israel’s foreign ministry said on Sunday that Mr Netanyahu had ordered contacts frozen until a “reassessment process is completed.”
It did not go into detail as to which institutions are affected. The peace process with the Palestinians broke down early last year.
Israel also said it would suspend dialogue on certain political issues earlier this month when the EU issued its new directive that labels Israeli produce made in the West Bank. Israel says the labelling is unfair and discriminatory. The EU says it is an accurate depiction of origin since the goods are not made in Israel. * Associated Press

Water waste
In the UAE’s arid climate, small shrubs, bushes and flower beds usually require about six litres of water per square metre, daily. That increases to 12 litres per square metre a day for small trees, and 300 litres for palm trees.
Horticulturists suggest the best time for watering is before 8am or after 6pm, when water won't be dried up by the sun.
A global report published by the Water Resources Institute in August, ranked the UAE 10th out of 164 nations where water supplies are most stretched.
The Emirates is the world’s third largest per capita water consumer after the US and Canada.
