Can’t get enough of the 1990s? Good news then, as this year’s Sunset Music Festival has announced former Westlife member Brian McFadden as a headliner for the concert gig taking place on April 19 at Zayed Sports City.
He will also be joined by British alt-rock band Toploader, pop trio Dodgy, Scottish singer Sandi Thom and Dubai-based singer Sam Tring.
Here’s a look at the acts performing:
McFadden is known for being a former member of the Irish boy band Westlife but has since found success as a solo artist. He performed in Dubai last year and is set to next month release his latest album Otis, which features covers of Otis Redding songs.
Toploader is an alternative rock band known for their cover of Dancing in the Moonlight. They released their album Seeing Stars in 2017.
English power pop rock band Dodgy are known for their 90s hits Staying Out for the Summer, If You're Thinking of Me and Good Enough. They added a fourth member and released their fifth album What Are We Fighting For in 2016.
The 37-year-old Thom is most known for her debut single I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in my Hair), which was the biggest-selling single of 2006 in Australia. Thom currently resides in Bahrain.
Tring, a Dubai-based British singer, has just released her new EP Beautiful Realisations.
Sunset Music Festival is on April 19. Early bird tickets are Dh195 while general admission is Dh225. For more information, visit www.sunsetmusicfestival.ae
