For their final Christmas portrait from the White House, both the US President and First Lady got suited and booted. Donald Trump and Melania Trump wore matching tailored tuxedos for the newly released image, taken in the Washington, DC landmark. The president, who will vacate the White House next month for incoming President-elect Joe Biden, wore a classic tux with a crisp bow tie for the shot. Melania, meanwhile, sported sleek high-waisted trousers, paired with a buttoned-up dress shirt and a fitted blazer. The image was taken on the White House's Grand Staircase on December 10, the first lady revealed on her official Twitter account. "Merry Christmas from President Donald J Trump and First Lady Melania Trump," the caption added. The couple did not pose for a traditional Christmas photo in 2019 but did release portraits in 2018 and 2017. In their previous Christmas photos, Trump and Melania posed in the Cross Hall of the White House. While the president typically dons a tux, in 2018 the first lady sported a white sequinned Celine midi dress. In 2017, she wore a black, sleeveless design by Delpozo, finished with a scattering of beading. This marks the final Christmas portrait of the pair taken in the White House, with Biden set to be sworn in as US President on Wednesday, January 20. Earlier this month, Melania unveiled the Trump family's final Christmas decorations for the White House, consisting of traditional red, gold and silver decor. Showing several rooms and hallways in the White House, the video gives viewers a glimpse of the elaborate festive decorations. Among Trump's trimmings are 106 wreaths, 360 metres of garlands and more than 3,200 strands of lights. There are also 62 Christmas trees spread throughout the house and no fewer than 17,000 festive bows.
