West Indies cricket legend Brian Lara has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after complaining of chest pain, according to reports. Asian News International said that Lara, 50, was admitted to Global Hospital in Mumbai, with the hospital due to release a statement on the former player's condition shortly. The Hindu newspaper said that Lara was admitted to the hospital at around 12.30pm local time. He was attending an event at a nearby event when he complained of discomfort, according to the report. Lara has been working in India as an analyst for Star Sports for the ongoing Cricket World Cup taking place in England. Lara, widely regarded as one of the greatest batsman in history, holds the record for the highest individual score, an unbeaten 501, and is the only man to score 400 in a Test match. In 131 Tests, the left-hander scored 11,953 runs including 34 hundreds as well as 10,405 runs in ODIs. The former captain retired in 2007 after a dismal West Indies campaign at the World Cup.
