Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, on Friday sent a congratulatory message to the UAE contingent for their performance at the 2018 Asian Para Games.
The eight-day games got under way in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta on Monday.
"44 players and athletes participate in the Asian Paralympic Games ... ," Sheikh Mohammed said on his personal Twitter account. "Two gold medals, six silver medals and three bronze medals have been the outcome of their efforts so far.
"You lifted the head. And you win the challenge. Everyone has the meaning of will. Proud.."

The Emirates have so far won five medals in athletics, including one gold for Mohammed Al Hammadi in the men's 800 metres. Al Hammadi also clinched one of the two silver medals in the 100m, with the other silver going to Mohammed Al Kaabi in the men's shotput.
Meanwhile, Maryam Al Matrooshi and Sara Al Senaani won bronze medals in the women's javelin throw and shotput, respectively.
In the shooting, Abdullah Sultan Al Aryani won gold (in the men's 50m rifle 3 position) and silver (10m air rifle standing).
Rashid Al Dhaheri won two silver medals in the cycling - in the time trial and the road race.
The UAE had success in the powerlifting, too, with Mohammed Khalaf winning silver in the men's 97kg-plus category, and Haifa Al Naqbi taking home the bronze in the women's 73kg-plus division.
The UAE also had a memorable outing at the Asian Games last month, bringing home from Indonesia 14 medals – including three golds, six silvers and five bronze.
