ABU DHABI // The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and US Consulate General in Dubai issued a warning to US citizens to exercise caution in their daily lives in the wake of the recent attacks in France, Egypt and Lebanon.
“In response to the air strikes, ISIL called on supporters to attack foreigners, particularly in coalition partner countries,” it said. “We believe there is an increased likelihood of other reprisal attacks against US, Western, and coalition partner interests throughout the world, especially in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Asia.”
US citizens were strongly encouraged to maintain a high level of vigilance, be aware of local events and take appropriate steps to bolster their personal security as hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas and malls “may be at risk”.
